Our goal, like yours, is to improve the quality of life in Northeast South Dakota by providing the tools to create and retain jobs and increase the services available in your community.  To accomplish this goal, we offer professional development, planning and management services to local governments, and assist in the administration of local programs and projects.
The Northeast Council of Governments (NECOG) is an association of city and county governments formed to provide technical and professional assistance. The Council is governed by a board which consists of county commissioners, city officials and private citizens.

In addition, through NECOG’s relationship with the NECOG Development Corporation, NECOG also helps promote economic development in the region by providing financing for new and expanding businesses.
